Social Responsibilit

We deeply value our place in the reading community. That’s why our commitment to social responsibility is grounded in three guiding pillars.

Community Giving

Right from the beginning, we’ve teamed up with charities, basically buying stacks of the books people donate to them.

It’s pretty simple: they get cash to fund their awesome community work, and we get great books to pass on to you. Kind of a win-win, right? And get this – just in the last 2 years, doing that has put over $10K right back into the hands of those charities.

Pretty wild, and honestly, something we’re really stoked we get to do.

Ecological Impact

Quite a few books pass through our hands here. We carefully check everything, pack up the good ones, and ship hundreds out week to readers all across the US.

But inevitably, some books are just past their prime – too torn, too battered, or just not suitable to sell anymore. Landfill isn’t really our style, so we make a real effort to recycle everything we possibly can.

It just feels like the right thing to do, knowing that every little bit helps save resources like trees and water. Even as a small shop, we believe doing our part matters.

Access to Literacy

And then there’s this other thing we do called ‘Merybook Cares.’ It’s basically our way of teaming up with some awesome non-profit groups to get books (and hopefully a little bit of hope) into places that really need them – think schools running low on resources, libraries inside prisons, or even folks working on literacy projects overseas.

Sometimes we do it using donated books, other times we chip in with volunteer hours. Honestly? We just really believe reading can change things – it unlocks opportunities, helps us understand each other better, and kinda plants seeds for brighter futures, you know?

Volunteering

We love hearing about new ways to support readers and promote literacy.
