Return & Refund Policy
At Merybook (merybook.com), your satisfaction is our priority. We understand that sometimes you may need to return a purchase. This policy outlines the procedures and conditions for returning items purchased from our website within the United States.
1. Return Timeframe
- You have 30 calendar days from the date your order was delivered to initiate a return for eligible items.
- Return requests initiated after this 30-day period will unfortunately not be accepted.
2. Eligibility Conditions for Returns
To be eligible for a return and refund, the item(s) must meet the following criteria:
- The item must be in its original, unused, and resalable condition.
- Textbooks must not have any writing, highlighting, marks, stains, or significant signs of wear (e.g., bent covers, torn pages).
- If the item included accompanying materials such as CDs, DVDs, or online access codes, these components must be unopened, unused, and still sealed in their original packaging. Access codes must not have been revealed or activated.
- The item should be returned with its original packaging (if applicable) and all included accessories.
- You must provide proof of purchase (e.g., your order number, order confirmation email).
3. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are generally not eligible for return or refund:
- Items marked as “Final Sale” or “Non-Returnable” at the time of purchase.
- Digital access codes that have been revealed, accessed, or activated.
- Gift cards.
- Used books sold in “as-is” condition (if clearly specified before purchase).
- Items damaged due to misuse, neglect, or reasons not attributable to Merybook or shipping carrier error.
4. How to Initiate a Return
Please follow these steps to initiate a return:

Please provide your order number and a brief reason for the return.
- Receive Return Authorization (RMA):
- Our team will review your request. If eligible, we will issue you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and provide detailed instructions on how to return the item(s). Please do not send back items without obtaining an RMA number first, as this may delay processing.
- Package Your Return: Carefully package the item(s) to prevent damage during transit. Include a copy of your proof of purchase or order confirmation inside the package.
- Ship Your Return: Send the package to the return address provided in the instructions (see Section 5).
5. Return Shipping
- Return Shipping Costs:
- Customer Responsibility: Customers are responsible for paying the shipping costs for returning items due to reasons such as change of mind, ordering the wrong item, or no longer needing the item.
- Merybook Responsibility: Merybook will cover the return shipping costs only if the return is due to our error (e.g., you received a defective, damaged, or incorrect item). In such cases, we will provide you with a prepaid shipping label or arrange for pickup. (See Section 8 for details).
- Shipping Method: We strongly recommend using a reputable carrier with a trackable shipping service (e.g., USPS with tracking, UPS, FedEx) for your return. You may also wish to purchase shipping insurance.
- Responsibility: Merybook is not responsible for items lost or damaged during the return shipping process if initiated and paid for by the customer. Please retain your tracking information.

6. Refund Processing
- Inspection: Once we receive your returned item(s) at our facility, our team will inspect them to ensure they meet the eligibility conditions outlined in Section 2.
- Approval & Notification: We will notify you via email regarding the approval or rejection of your refund request, typically within 5 business days of receiving the return.
- Refund Method: If your return is approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment.
- Refund Timing: Please allow approximately 7 business days for the refund to be processed by Merybook after your return has been received and approved. Please note that it may take additional time for your bank or credit card company to post the refund to your account (this can vary depending on the institution).
- Refund Amount:
- Approved refunds will cover the original purchase price of the returned item(s), including any applicable taxes paid on those items.
- Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable, unless the return is due to an error on Merybook’s part (see Section 8).
- We currently do not charge restocking fees for eligible returns.
7. Exchanges
- We currently do not offer direct exchanges.
- If you wish to exchange an item for a different one, please follow the return process outlined above to return the original item for a refund and place a separate new order for the desired item.
8. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
- Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt.
- If you receive an item that is damaged in transit, defective, or different from what you ordered, please contact our Customer Support team within 7 days of delivery.
- To expedite the process, please provide your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographic evidence of the damage, defect, or incorrect item.
- If the claim is verified, we will arrange for the return of the item at our expense (e.g., by providing a prepaid shipping label).
- You will be offered the option of receiving a replacement (if available) or a full refund (including any original shipping charges paid for that item).
